Thoroughly enjoyed last night's magnificent performance
of Bach's wonderful St.John's Passion. It was my first
experience of the Welsh Sinfonia orchestra and choir
and I was fascinatd by the superb sound of such a small ensemble and the well trained chorus and exemplary soloists, directed with superb control by Carl Grainger.Ialso enjoyed reading Peter Fosters excellent writing on the background and composition of the work. Lastly, the chorales were beautifully sung and I found them so uplifting and truly inspirational.
